Diving In Barbados - Part One
Duration 13 minutes 14 seconds
Barbados is the most easterly island in the Caribbean where the Caribbean Ocean meets the Atlantic Ocean.
In Part one of this two part report from Barbados, we meet Edwin, one of the instructors at Hightide Watersports, and Mark co owner of Rogers Scuba Shack who tell us about the scuba diving to be had around the Island of Barbados. Both are PADI schools and offer relaxed diving for the holidaymaker. We also hear from a visitor to the Island and her impression of the dive sites.
Please note that in this video there is a problem with wind noise which affects the quality of some of the sound for which we apologise.
Coming soon in part two, we hear from Andrew Western of Eco Divers and he tells us what is available for the non diver to experience in Barbados.

In 2009, The Barbados Tourism Authority invited Info On Scuba Diving to experience Barbados and the diving there. Barbados is the most easterly island in the Caribbean and is located 13 degrees north of the Equator. Average daytime year-round air temperatures are 30C, water temperatures 28C. We would like to thank the Barbados Tourism Authority for their hospitality and hope that you all enjoy our report on this beautiful island.
Whilst there, we stayed at the Sandpiper Hotel, and the Beach View. We greatfully acknowledge their assistance to us.

Our stay on the Island was co-ordinated by Ruth Phillips from the BTA (above) and our lovely driver for the visit was Emmerson Clarke who has won taxi driver of the year twice - 1990 & 1996. We were also invited to dine with the deputy chairman of the BTA - Austin Husbands, where we discussed diving & tourism in Barbados.
