Iphone app for diving in Red Sea

Egypt's Chamber of Diving and Watersports (CDWS) has announced that a FREE application on diving in the Red Sea is now available to download from iTunes. Anyone with an iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch will be able to access a full list of legal diving and water sports operations in Egypt at the touch of a button.

In addition to general information about CDWS, the application offers something completely new and not yet available on the standard CDWS website: it features an easy-to-view GPS location of CDWS members on a Google Map.

Users can either search on the Egypt Google Map, or access the position of the CDWS members via the listing itself. The liveaboard operators' GPS position refers to the port of departure.

The application is currently available in four languages: English, Russian, German and Italian.
The application features the complete listing of all legal diving centres and liveaboards that have met ISO standards EN 14467 / ISO 24803 for diving as agreed with Egypt's CDWS, the Austrian Institute of Norms and the European Underwater Federation. Any diving operator in Egypt not listed on the application is operating illegally.
